Phil has over 25 years’ experience as a product support engineer with electronics, mechanical, optics and robotics systems, working with major global companies such as Siemens and Fujitsu. At Pragmatic, Phil is responsible for hardware and installation support for FlexLogic® for low cost FlexIC production. Phil comments, “It is rewarding to be working in this leading-edge company in a varied role, alongside such talented people.”

Julie has over 20 years’ industry experience, working for Fujitsu, Filtronic, RFMD and Compound Photonics in various technical roles. Joining PragmatIC in 2013 as a Production Technician, she is now the Production Supervisor. Julie recalls, “I have seen how Pragmatic has progressed over the years and I can honestly say I have enjoyed the journey. I work with a dedicated group of people and we are excited about the huge potential of the FlexLogic system.”

Principal engineer, ic design manager
Antony leads the team responsible for a wide range of work from device modelling to mask design. As well as a PhD in Physics from Cambridge University he has extensive industry experience in mixed-signal silicon IC design. He confirms, “Pragmatic’s forward thinking investment in research and a positive attitude means there is always something new to do and never a dull moment. I am looking forward to exciting challenges ahead.”

Test Development director
Will worked at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) after completing his degree in Physics. He joined Pragmatic in 2015 as part of the test team and he now manages this team. Will confirms, “My favourite thing about working at Pragmatic is the variety of my role. I can go from a meeting discussing semiconductor mobility to soldering components in the lab and then back to my desk where I am working on some test software.”

Anna
Principal Engineer – FA & Reliability
Anna has a Master’s degree in Electrical and Information Sciences from Cambridge University. She spent 10 years as a Research Associate at the Cambridge University Engineering Department. Her role at Pragmatic covers thin film processes and devices, assembly, reliability and data analysis. Anna confirms, “I like the fact that people at Pragmatic concentrate on core challenges and nobody wants to stop, everyone keeps pushing – never giving up.”
Stanley

Stanley joined Pragmatic after completing a PhD in flexible strain sensors. Previously, he worked as a process engineer overseeing the sputtering processes at a company producing thin film solar panels. At Pragmatic he has been involved in the development of the FlexLogic system. Stanley admits, “It has been exciting to work on FlexLogic and I feel I have experienced more than I would have experienced in a lifetime at another company.”

Mossaab studied for a PhD based around NF UHF RFID at the LCIS Lab in the Grenoble INP Institute in France. As a Senior RF Engineer his role covers everything related to RF from design to characterisation. Mossaab comments, “At Pragmatic I enjoy the open discussions and sharing of ideas with my colleagues across the organisation. I am proud and excited to be part of a big team working hard to make RFID with new technology.”

LEAD engineer
Will has a first-class degree in Physics from the University of Hull. Prior to Pragmatic, he spent over 5 years as an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) researcher. At Pragmatic he focuses on the process to laser dice and release wafers, as well as the programming of individual integrated circuits (ICs). Will comments, “I have enjoyed the opportunity to use Pragmatic’s cutting-edge equipment and it’s great to be working in such a friendly environment.”
